A Georgia jury cleared a radiologist of responsibility for the severe birth-related disabilities a child suffered after his mother was given a drug meant to end an ectopic pregnancy.
In closings, Peters & Monyak’s Robert Monyak told jurors that the radiologist clearly reported his correct conclusion that the mother’s pregnancy was not ectopic, and that a subsequent order by another doctor to administer the drug was not the radiologist’s fault.
“We cannot require that doctors control what happens when they have finished their job.”
