Tampa, FL— Trial is scheduled to open this week against multiple healthcare providers over the catastrophic injuries a Florida woman suffered following an electrolyte imbalance. Crohan, et al. v. Pioneer Medical Group, P.L., et al. 2019-CA-009248.
According to documents in the case, Miranda Crohan arrived at a Tampa-area hospital in November 2017 suffering from severe hyponatremia, or low blood sodium. Crohan’s father contends that multiple physicians improperly treated and managed her hyponatremia over the course of her care, leaving her with profound brain damage.
The healthcare providers counter that they met their standard of care throughout their treatment of Crohan.
Plaintiffs are represented by attorneys from Trentalange & Kelley.
Firms representing the healthcare providers include Wicker, Smith; La Cava, Jacobson & Goodis; and Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell, according to documents in the case.
Trial, before Florida 13th Circuit Court Judge Paul Huey, is expected to last three weeks. CVN will stream the case gavel-to-gavel, live and on demand.
